Rear Drums

Postby Blue_Mule55 » Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:41 am

1976 F-250 3/4 ton 460 CID C-6 TWO wheel drive.
I seem to be running into a situation: The rear axle on my truck is equipped with a full floatiing axel as it should be and I am now about to do the rear brakes and such. I am looking to replace the rear drums but of the half dozen or so times I have had these thins off the hub comes with it. I am told from NAPA that the hubs are a press fit , which I fiond hard to believe as they sure look liked a one piece item to me. Any suggestions? Is NAPA correct? press fit? I hesitate to put these in a press only to dsestroy the hub or worse be in a situation where I can't get the drums off...or not be able to locate new ones.
